FAQ
Where will my photoshoot take place?
A. This all depends on you! My goal is to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for my clients so whether that's in your home, outdoors*, or a studio* the location is entirely up to you.
*Note:
Some outdoor locations require permits. It is the clients responsibility to be aware and pay any fee that is required by the outdoor venue.
In regards to a clients preference to a studio. An extra fee will be added on to any package to cover extra costs for studio usage.
What do I wear?
A. This is your photoshoot so its up to you! If you are looking for tips, I find earthy/neutral tones ( deep greens, browns, soft pinks, whites, etc. ) photograph best. Those colours also offer a timeless look in photos. Stay away from bright or bold patterns as they can be distracting in the photos and make them look dated over time.
Do you require a retainer?
A. Yes, a 50% retainer is required to secure your date at the time of booking. The final payment will be required during the week of your session.
How do I prepare for an in home photoshoot?
A. On the day of the photoshoot I will arrive at our discussed time and location. Be ready to start the photoshoot right away as there is a time limit set.
If this is a newborn session make sure baby is fed and sleepy.
For any other session please make sure all other individuals being included in the photographs, they should be dressed and ready to go!
Do I need to deep clean my house?
A. Absolutely not! Simply have tables, couches, floors, etc. clear of items you do not want photographed like toys, bottles, dishes, etc. Larger items that may appear distracting in photos can always be moved temporarily and put back.
What if my baby wont settle?
A. Don't sweat it! Babies can be unpredictable so if your baby doesn’t settle during the photoshoot we will work with them. I find some of the best photos are the ones of baby being fed or held by their parents.
When will I receive my photos?
A. The turn around for my photos is currently 1-2 weeks.
What if I need to cancel?
A. Life happens! If you need to cancel your session, a new session will be booked at the next available day/time I have.
Are you willing to travel?
A. It depends! I currently work out of Hamilton, Ontario but I am willing to travel to the Halton, Brantford, and Niagara regions. A travel fee may apply depending on the distance you require. This will be discussed at the initial consultation.
